The Catholic Church

Classes to become a member of the Catholic Church run during the school year, typically meeting one night a week. The process is called Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), and is hosted by Deacon Mike and Mary Penich. The sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, First Communion) are typically held on Holy Saturday evening, the night before Easter Sunday. Click here for more information.

There are also many introductory books about a life of faith in the Catholic Church that may be available in your local library.
  

St. Paul the Apostle Parish

Sacramental records for sacraments performed at St. Paul the Apostle are available by calling the Parish House.
St. Paul the Apostle is located at 1601 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee, IL. The church sits at the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Gages Lake Road on the west side of I-94, approximately 3 miles from Gurnee Mills Mall and Six Flags Great America.  Click here for a map.
Are you planning an event or meeting for your ministry?  Make sure that you reserve a room!  With so many ministries and such a large Family Spiritual Formation program, space in our facility is often full.  To place an event on the calendar, please contact Michelle Shaffer at MShaffer@StPaultheApostle.net or by phone at 847-816-8711.  Your meeting will be posted to our online calendar.  Please check the parish calendar for date and room availability before planning your next meeting.

Baptism preparation classes are held the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM for parents who are having their first child baptised at St. Paul. Please call the Parish House to let us know that you will be coming. To schedule a baptism, please contact Fr. Ray Clennon at 847-918-0600.

Ministries

St. Paul is the home to many vibrant ministries. Each October, the parish hosts Ministry Sunday, where you can meet some of the people involved in each of the ministries. To join a ministry, contact the ministry head, and they'll be happy to help you!
St. Paul is blessed with several choirs and instrumental groups, and we'd love for you to share your talent with the parish!  Please see the choir page for more information.
